Neurodivergent Friends Needs Your Support
Register for NeuroSpicy Connections with Neurodivergent Friends™
Join Neurodivergent Friends™ for a social night designed exclusively for neurodivergent individuals. This is a for-us-by-us event where we connect, share our interests, and build a community that truly understands us. Whether it’s hobbies, special interests, or just finding others who "get it," this is our space—no need to mask or explain.
Event Details:
Date: Second Friday of the Month
Time: 5:30 PM - 8:30 PM
Teens and adults (no age ceiling) will have separate spaces available.
Location: CTBS, 315 East Avenue D Killeen, TX
Cost: Free (Donations encouraged for those who are able)
Registration Required: Tickets are free, but registration is mandatory.
What to Expect:
T-Rex Arms and Happy Feet Welcome!
Hobby and Special Interest Sharing: Bring your hobbies—games, action figures, art supplies, tablets—and connect with others who love what you love. This space allows info-dumping, sharing obscure hobbies, and discovering shared passions. If enough people share a passion, it might inspire a new event!
Comfort First: Bring whatever makes you comfortable—noise-canceling headphones, weighted blankets, or a hoodie inside—it’s your space to feel at ease.
Our Spaces: Any attendee requiring age-based segregation for legal or personal reasons can be accommodated, as we can work with multiple spaces in our large setting.
This event is designed primarily for Neurodivergent Friends ages 13 and up, with activities, space, and staffing planned for teens and adults. Because of that, we’re not able to fully accommodate children under 13 in the main activities. That said, we understand that life happens. Sometimes autistic adults have children, and sometimes siblings need to come along. Families are never turned away, and we’re always glad you’re here.
Please keep in mind:
Children under 13 may not be able to participate in the main activities with older participants.
There will be some games, toys, and space available for younger children.
Parents and caregivers are fully responsible for supervising their children at all times.
Our space is borrowed and must be returned in better condition than we found it, so if your child makes a mess, we ask that you help clean it up.
Everyone attending must register for a ticket.
If you’re interested in helping create events specifically for children under 13, we would love that support! Parents and caregivers are encouraged to connect so we can explore hosting a younger-kids-focused gathering in the future. Thank you for helping us keep this event welcoming, respectful, and comfortable for everyone. 💛
Behavior and Safety Concerns: We strive to maintain a safe, comfortable environment for all. While we understand that different behaviors may arise, we cannot accommodate actions that compromise the safety and comfort of the group.
Consult with Neurodivergent Friends™: During the event, Neurodivergent Friends will be available to chat with self-advocates, caregivers, and parents about community resources and referrals.
Exclusive to Neurodivergent Individuals: This event is for neurodivergent participants only. Neurotypical guests are welcome only if they are in a supportive role—like a caregiver, significant other, date, or friend invited by a Neurodivergent Friend. We do have areas to wait.
Community Resource Tables: Organizations and vendors are invited to set up tables to showcase their services. Background check verification can be provided through your professional license or organization or by registering to volunteer at our Harker Heights Library events.
Food Policy: Attendees can bring fast food, snacks, or bagged meals. Please clean up after yourself—we will leave the place better than we found it!
Sponsorship Opportunities: We encourage sponsorships of dinners and snacks to be served at our monthly events.
Participation Waiver: Everyone must complete a waiver before participating.
Parents & Caregivers: Enjoy a date night or socialize with other parents while you wait.
Support Our Event:
While the event is free, we welcome donations to help cover the costs. Every bit helps us keep this space going for our community.
We’re excited to see you there—because Here, you belong!™
